About this Speaker

Surinder holds over 25 years as an experienced IT executive with portfolios in IT Architecture projects, IT infrastructure, IT services, Data Centre Services in various departments and agencies, and in the public sector.

He first began his career in the private sector with the Royal Bank of Canada before joining the Federal Public Service in 1991 with Canada Revenue Agency. Throughout his career, he has advanced to various management positions within CRA, Human Resources and Social Development Canada, Health Canada and Shared Services Canada prior to joining Library and Archives Canada and more recently Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC).

Surinder Joined PSPC in August 2019 as Director General and is currently responsible for Enterprise Architecture, application portfolio management and Government wide products and Solutions. In addition he is also lead on Cloud competency centre at PSPC. He has extensive Information technology and Information Management experience in both the Public and Private sectors.

Before joining PSPC, Surinder was the Chief Information Officer at Library and Archives Canada for three years. He has also held a variety of Senior Executive roles at Shared Services Canada, Employment & Social Development Canada and Canada Revenue Agency. He is also a member of the “Association de l'Hôpital Montfort “ since June 2019.

Surinder holds a Bachelor of Mathematics Honours degree in Computer Science from University of Waterloo, and a Master’s Certificate in Project Management from Carleton University. In September 2018, he began the two-year Leadership Program offered by the Ottawa U.
